Maryland

The Maryland House of Delegates unanimously approved the Green Death Care Options Act March 2024.

The Maryland House of Delegates unanimously (127-0) approved the Green Death Care Options Act March 18, 2024. The bill will move onto the senate.

Previous Legislation

On March 20, 2023, Maryland House of Delegates passed HB 1060 – Cremation – Natural Organic Reduction – Regulation, to legalize human composting. The Maryland House formally transferred possession of the bill to the Maryland Senate but there were not enough votes in Maryland’s Senate Finance Committee to move the bill forward to a vote.
