The following is a tribute written by The Center for Wooden Boats where Martin was a dedicated volunteer:
We are deeply saddened by the loss of longtime volunteer Martin Feldman, who passed away on June 17 after a courageous battle with cancer. A member of CWB community for over 25 years and our 2007 Volunteer of the Year, Martin generously shared his time, talent, and steady willingness to help wherever he was needed. Drawing on his professional background in facilities maintenance, he regularly tackled countless projects around campus. From repairing doors and docks to building custom solutions to organizing workspaces to crafting beautiful hardwood cutting boards and coasters for the Gift Shop, he found every way he could to make this place his home.
Martin’s kindness and quiet dedication left a lasting mark on CWB. Whether staying late to help repaint the interior Floating Boathouse or lending his expertise to behind-the-scenes projects, he always stepped forward when help was needed. Beyond his craftsmanship, many will remember his curiosity, his deep appreciation for music and its history, and the conversations he shared with friends. We are grateful for the years Martin gave to this community, and he will be greatly missed.
