Jack Glickman, aged 97, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2024. Born on January 16, 1927, Jack lived a life full of devotion to his family, service to his country, and commitment to his principles. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Eileen Glickman, and is survived by his children: Nancy Glickman, David Glickman, Steven Glickman and grandchildren Aaron Glickman and Scott Glickman.

Jack was born in New York city to his father David and his mother Emma. He was the youngest of three siblings growing up in a loving family with his brother Charlie and his sister Jeanette.  Jack loved to play sports with his friends, played piano, played chess and enjoyed fishing. He was an active boy and remembers fondly going to the family bungalow in Mastic Beach with the family and his dog Buster.

After proudly serving in World War II, Jack returned to civilian life and began working in the newspaper industry, as well as selling automotive paints and supplies in Brooklyn, New York. Later, he moved his family from Oceanside, New York to Tucson, Arizona where he founded Jetson Auto Supplies, a successful auto paints  business.

Jack retired at the age of 65, where he rediscovered his childhood passion for hardball baseball. He played competitively until the age of 86, cherishing the camaraderie with his teammates and speaking fondly of those experiences until the end.

Jack also had a deep love for music. A talented pianist with a beautiful voice, he found joy in filling his home with music and sharing it with others.

Jack was truly altruistic, deeply caring about his children and staying engaged in political matters throughout his life. Reflecting his strong environmental values, he chose to have his body transformed into soil, allowing his body to return to the earth in a way that nourishes future generations.

A laying-in ceremony will be held on October 11, 2024.

Jack Glickman lived a full and meaningful life, leaving behind a legacy of love, music, and cherished memories with his family and friends.
