Corey Holly

April 7, 1970 – February 12, 2025

Corey Holly was born April 7, 1970 to Sandra and Gerald in San Antonio, CA. In 1974 he was adopted by Thomas Joseph Holly and Anna Holly (Rogina).

Corey was a lover of nature, Seattle, and humanity overall, which showed in the volunteer work he often did. Corey enjoyed biking, exercise, music (especially U2), reading, his friends, and his community. No one was a stranger to Corey and he was always the first to help others.

While in the US Navy and during the 1989 USN Flying Rifles, Corey would meet his first wife, Natasha Kretschmar (Evans/Holly). Natasha and Corey gave birth to their daughter, Erica Holly, in 1990. He would go on to attend the University of Washington, becoming a student in their medical program and obtaining his degree in social work.

Corey worked as a home health aid for most of his career. He would also spend years visiting the country’s national parks and beaches, always feeling most connected to animals and the natural world.  Inquisitive and consistently wanting to learn, Corey believed that knowledge is power.

A lover of people, Corey leaves behind many friends and family members. He is survived by his daughter Erica Spotts and granddaughter Regina Spotts who are enjoying life with Natasha in Ohio. Additional survivors include son Andrew Walker, adoptive mother Anna Holly, sister Kathy Robertson (Joe), family Jon Robertson (Layla) and Joanna Jackson (Jared), dear friends Michael Bowers and Hans Nesse, and many others who loved him.

Corey was a peaceful man and believed that love always prevails.

“All you need is love.”
