Angus James Campbell

September 18, 1946 – September 4, 2026

Angus James Campbell died peacefully in his home in Seattle, WA from cancer on Friday June 4. Born in Erie, PA in 1946, son of Bruce Campbell and Rosemary Heberlein, he was a veteran who served in Vietnam and held a long career on the east coast in the management of Information Technology.

A loving father and grandfather, and a devoted and incredibly supportive husband, Angus – or “Gus” as most called him – liked to fashion himself a curmudgeon. But behind the thin facade was an extremely kind, deeply moral and often very funny man. Angus was shy in a group, but adventuresome in spirit. He enjoyed his food (especially a good burger!) and wine, and had great fun SCUBA diving with his wife in destinations as far flung as Yap Island, the Coral Sea, and North Sulawesi. A car buff, he followed Formula 1 (attending races in Europe, Watkins Glen, and Montreal), injected his son and his wife with his enthusiasm, and turned heads as he drove his bright yellow Porsche around town.

Angus is survived by his wife Kathrin Winkler; his son Bryan, daughter-in-law Stephanie Nashban, and grandson Henry; daughter Catherine, granddaughter Brianna and great granddaughter Casey; and brother Douglas and sister-in-law Denise. He will be greatly missed from coast to coast.
