Recompose is proud to announce the launch of its Community Fund. The fund was created to subsidize the cost of Recompose services for those who can’t afford to pay the full price.
Says Recompose founder and CEO Katrina Spade, “The Community Fund is an important part of the Recompose mission. We’ve long been committed to bringing ecological death care to as many people as possible. This includes providing our human composting services to individuals who couldn’t otherwise afford them. We see the Community Fund as an important – and exciting – way of building the Recompose community.”
Recompose considers applications for Community Fund support either when a person is near death or at the time of death. Individuals can apply for the Community Fund themselves, or the application can be completed by a friend or family member, next of kin, social worker, death care supporter, or medical provider.
The Recompose Community Fund is being supported and grown by non-tax-deductible contributions from clients, investors, and the larger community. In addition, 100% of the profits from the recently-launched Recompose Store go to the Community Fund.
