Recompose Community Fund
The Recompose Community Fund helps provide human composting to individuals who couldn’t otherwise afford the full price of the service.
Everyone Deserves a Green Funeral
Recompose is committed to bringing ecological death care to as many people as possible. This includes providing our services at a subsidized rate to individuals who could not otherwise afford to pay our full price. This includes:
- Empathetic care and guidance from our Services team from the time of death through transformation into soil eight to twelve weeks later
- Transportation from place of death to a Recompose facility within our service area
- Sheltering of the body, if necessary, at our private, onsite cooled storage for up to four weeks
- Death certificate filing (Washington State residents)
- Obituary on the Recompose website
- Transformation of the body into soil by leading human composting experts
- Soil available for pickup or donation to conservation efforts, or a combination of both
- Six small, biodegradable containers specially made to temporarily hold your person’s soil
The Community Fund is supported by 100% of the profits from the Recompose shop, speaking fees paid to Recompose staff, and contributions from members of our community.
Contribute to the Fund
We created the Recompose Shop as a way for individuals contribute to the Community Fund. Purchase gifts and gear to help spark conversations about human composting or skip the merch and become a fund sponsor instead. 100% of profits from all purchases go to our Community Fund. Please note that contributions to the Community Fund are not tax deductible.
