In 2021, Assemblymember Amy Paulin led to legalize natural organic reduction in New York. The bill did not move forward to legalization this session. 

During the 2021 legislative session, Assemblymember Amy Paulin (D-Scarsdale) led Assembly Bill A382 to legalize natural organic reduction in New York. The bill was endorsed by Environmental Advocates NY. The bill did move forward before the session ended in June 2021. Assemblymember Paulin remains committed to green death care options and plans to revisit this legislation in a future session.
