Raymond Charles Richter

December 19, 2000 – October 3, 2026

Raymond Charles Richter, age 25, of Greenwood, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at his home.

A memorial service celebrating Raymond’s life will be held on Monday, October 19, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Westwood Community Church, 3121 Westwood Drive, Chanhassen, MN. The family will welcome friends and loved ones for visitation at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, prior to the service.

Raymond was born on December 19, 2000, the eldest of three children of Bradford and Shannon (Alonso) Richter. He was baptized in the Episcopal faith and graduated from Minnetonka High School in 2019. He continued his education at the University of Colorado Boulder and made Boulder his home for seven years before returning to Minnesota in 2026. During his time in Colorado, he worked at General Atomics in the Denver area and at SparkFun Electronics in Longmont, where he enjoyed pursuing his passion for technology and electronics.

Raymond earned the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout in 2019, an achievement that reflected his dedication, perseverance, and determination.

From an early age, Raymond had an endlessly curious mind and a love of discovering how things worked. He delighted in electronics, circuit boards, aerospace, gaming, and building with LEGOs. He had a special affection for animals, particularly raccoons. He also had a wonderful appreciation for the world around him. He loved traveling and exploring new places, including an unforgettable journey to Antarctica. Whether hiking, skiing, or simply taking in the beauty of nature, Raymond was someone who would always stop to admire a breathtaking view.

Raymond will be remembered for his kindness, intelligence, patience, and gentle spirit. He was thoughtful and observant, taking in the world around him with curiosity. He had a playful, silly side that brought laughter and joy to those who knew him. His warmth, gentle humor, and unique perspective made him deeply loved by his family and friends.

Raymond’s light shone brightly, and although his time with us was far too short, the love and memories he leaves behind will shine on forever.

Raymond was preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard Alonso and Cindy Richter.

He is survived by his loving parents, Bradford and Shannon Richter of Greenwood; his brother, Ethan Richter of San Diego, CA; and his sister, Aubrey Richter of Los Angeles, CA. He is also survived by his grandparents, Bonnie Hayskar of Chaska, MN; Frederick and Katherine (Robinson) Richter of Wayzata, MN; and Sally and Howard Oxley of La Jolla, CA.

Raymond is also lovingly remembered by his aunts, uncles, and cousins: Clark, Anne, Sofie, and Hannah Richter of Chicago, IL; Radine, Scott, Leila, and Blaise Smith of Middleton, ID; and Robin, Mike, Mackenzie, and Morgan of Needham, MA.
