NOR Lead

A licensed NOR operator, Megan (she/her) brings a diverse skillset to Recompose, from permaculture to soil science and lab analysis. She was the very first person in the world to be employed to usher bodies through their transformation into soil. In addition to managing the NOR process, Megan’s duties include managing supplies and equipment.

Prior to coming to Recompose, Megan was facilities manager and educational director at The Health Research Institute in southern Oregon. She developed a six-month “Seed to Skillet” internship program with a curriculum that included permaculture, microbiology, and soil regeneration methods. Megan also worked in the Ecuadorian Amazon to develop a training aimed at fostering healing for those affected by the toxic legacy of the oil industry. She has managed large-scale kitchens and events, and spent years working in the wine industry.

Megan is passionate about climate activism and social justice work. She has a lifelong history in the interfaith community and finds deep spiritual purpose in her work with soil and plants.

Megan has a bachelor’s in Outdoor Leadership and Wine Science from The Evergreen State College.
