Finance Specialist
Recompose is seeking a Finance Specialist to take on bookkeeping functions including QuickBooks, AR/AP, and bank reconciliations.
Recompose is seeking a Finance Specialist to take on bookkeeping functions including QuickBooks, AR/AP, and bank reconciliations. This person will also support the Finance Director with various finance tasks and must be comfortable in and around Microsoft Excel. They will support the HR Director with payroll-related tasks. The Finance Specialist will support the finance and bookkeeping functions at each of our locations as well as for the company overall. They should be familiar with processing payroll and have at least 3 years of prior experience in the bookkeeping realm.
The Finance Specialist will start as part time (2-3 days/week) with the option of going to full time in the next 9-18 months if desired. The role can be remote from Colorado, Florida, New York or hybrid (if living in the Seattle area). The Finance Specialist will report to the Finance Director.
Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day bookkeeping
- Post Accounts Receivables including all deposits, collections, revenue recognition, and allocate revenues.
- Post Accounts Payable: pay bills, allocate expenses, and reconcile all activity.
- Reconcile all accounts on an as-needed basis.
- Ensure all revenues and expenses are tracked by class and project.
- Manage expense reporting platform
Process payroll
- Process biweekly payroll for multiple locations.
- Enter, update, and maintain payroll database system including insurance benefits, time off and tax related deductions.
- Answer employee questions related to payroll topics and resolve employee issues in a professional manner.
- Accurately process direct deposits and reimbursements.
Assist with other projects
- Work with Finance Director to prepare financial reports for quarterly board reports and finance meetings.
- File monthly sales & use tax reports, and other government reporting as needed
- Work with Finance Director to develop annual budgets in excel and Quickbooks
- Update data and pull reports in the CRM system.
Qualifications
Required
- Good understanding of both the purpose and application of accounting rules and standards for bookkeeping.
- Familiarity with range of financial transactions, especially accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- 3+ years of previous experience in managing books for an organization.
- Proficiency with QBO and Excel.
- Previous payroll processing experience is required.
- Outstanding written and verbal communications skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Able to plan, prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate complex data clearly.
- Ability to act upon organizational mission, vision, and values.
- Flexibility: ability to adapt to new situations and to change focus unexpectedly.

- Experience working with businesses that have multiple locations.

Physical Environment, Travel Requirements, and Equipment
The person in this position will perform the essential function of the position primarily in an office type of environment which may require sitting/standing at a desk, as well as interacting with technology (computer, phone), for most of the day.
This is a hybrid/remote position: the role can be remote from Colorado, Florida, or New York, or hybrid if living in the Seattle area.
Salary Range and Benefit Information
Salary Range: $23.80 – $36.06
This position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime, although overtime is not expected to be a regular occurrence.
