“Spread under the roots of so many trees”

Recompose was a perfect choice for my brother Wayne. He was an avid gardener and magnificent human being. He loved Japanese maples and tended over 50 in pots on his deck. His husband has gifted many of them to friends and his soil is now nurturing his own garden and trees in friends’ gardens all across the Northwest.

The staff at Recompose were exquisitely compassionate, turning an ‘industrial’ event into a meaningful ritual. Our family loved the ritual Recompose has created.

We brought the soil home and invited those who loved him to take a bucket to put under their own Japanese maples or in some other special place in their garden.

I still talk with him every time I am weeding underneath my own Japanese maples. I love thinking of him spread under the roots of so many trees all across this country.
